The intention was to enable students to \u2018speak the language of music\u2019 as they started out in life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Swavesey Music School aims to provide students of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to learn the language of music and use it appropriately.\u00a0 By learning in an environment conducive to music making, pupils become comfortable with using a language that will last a lifetime whether they become professional musicians or lifelong amateur enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learn to speak the language of music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Open the lungs, open the ears and let the spirit soar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Big Sing for those aged 7 to 77 years 10.15 am to 11.00 am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>An excellent way of combining the reading and use of music theory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This is for students aged 7+.<\/p>\n<p>Students in \u2018Big Sing\u2019 sessions, will develop their singing and listening skills, through unision and part singing.\u00a0 They will experience many styles of music which are designed to open the lungs are ears, and let the spirit soar.\u00a0\u00a0 This provides an opportunity for developing ensemble skills which are vital for any aspiring musician.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Music Theory 09.30 am to 10.15 am<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The basics that make up the musical language \u2013 staves, clefs, sharps, flats and note values and all the symbols peculiar to music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By mixing the theory and lively interactions and listening to theory at work, pupils will be able to create their own tunes from an early stage, building steadily on their musical vocabulary.\u00a0 Classes are arranged in increasing levels of difficulty, catering for all ability levels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Big Orchestra 11:00 to 12:00 pm<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This starts at 11:00 and is a welcoming and inclusive group for orchestral instrumentalists. We currently have members from beginners to advanced standard. This group has an enthusiastic number of adult instrumentalists of all abilities playing along with our younger members<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joining together with other musicians to produce a performance is rewarding and exciting at all levels, a time when the sum is greater than its constituent parts. The repertoire ranges from classical to popular music.<\/p>\n<p>www.swaveseymusic.co.uk<\/p>\n<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>www.swaveseymusic.co.uk<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rock School Session I<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first session of the morning 10.00 to 10.55 am<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each week builds up the confidence and skills needed to play in a band format.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to work as a group and develop together, covering such things as:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Being comfortable on your instrument<br \/>\n\u2022 Communicating with band members<br \/>\n\u2022 Playing with other musicians<br \/>\n\u2022 How to play as an ensemble to an audience<\/p>\n<p>So, whether it is guitar, bass, keyboard, drums or singing, students will be prepared towards the next level of Rocking out!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rock school Session II<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>second Rock School session 11.05 am to 12.00 pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is for those students who play guitar, bass, drums and vocals and want to play rock music in a variety of bands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Rock school is orientated towards performance, working within the format of a band or act to develop performance skills, confidence, communication, and the stage skills necessary for a performing musician.\u00a0 In the process, students experience first-hand the intricacies of band dynamics, and naturally develop their own musical skills.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Get in touch<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to meeting all young musicians at Swavesey Music School. She is a keen musician who teaches strings and piano at Swavesey Village College as well as at other schools.
